Uranium is a naturally occurring radioactive chemical element.

Uranium in nature is about 99.3% uranium 238 and around 0.7% uranium 235. The former is less useful for nuclear weapons or nuclear power.

Depleted uranium

Full article: Depleted uranium

Depleted uranium, a.k.a. uranium 238, is a waste product of the enrichment process which concentrates the uranium 235. This posed a disposal problem for the nuclear industry until it was repurposed to make projectiles or for armor plating.
