Main focus: Fake news, Syria, COVID-19

Mike Robinson and Brian Gerrish of UK Column have collaborated on an expose of the "fake news" about Syria.[1]

Origins

UK column began in 2006 as the Davenport Column. As readership grew, it was renamed, first to the Plymouth & Devonport Column, and then the UK Column.[2]

Wikipedia has deleted its page as "non-notable".

UKC News: Was the ‘Lockdown’ justified?

UK Column was quick to look behind the surface of the COVID-19 outbreak. In April 2020, Mike Robinson of UKC News and Patrick Henningsen of 21st Century Wire provided the latest Coronavirus updates raising a number of issues:

Was the ‘Lockdown’ justified?
On what basis were such risky policy decisions taken?

They argued that "New data seems to suggest that not only was it not justified, but 'Lockdown' policies appear to be driving-up casualty numbers. While the US and its allies attempt to blame China for the coronavirus and all of the economic damage suffered from the West’s lockdown policies, incredibly, the US, UK, Spain and others seem to be emulating all of China’s grandiose and authoritarian reactions and measures to ‘tackle the pandemic’. Also, the UK government has tasked the British Army’s online troll division, 77th Brigade, to try and ‘influence’ the public conversation on social media back in favour of Central Government. Again, the Western powers continue to copy China’s model of state-sponsored censorship."[3]
