The Townhouse Operation was a slush fund used by Richard Nixon's campaign in the 1970 US Presidential Election.

It was called the "Townhouse Operation" because it was operated out of a townhouse on Nineteenth Street, in a residential area near Dupont Circle in Northwest Washington.[1] It later came under the scrutiny of Watergate prosecutors. The plan distributed $6,000 in cash to selected candidates, including George H. W. Bush.[2][3]

Details are in Russ Baker's Family Of Secrets.
