The suspected assassin of RFK, an armed security guard who got the job a week earlier.

Thane Eugene Cesar was an armed security guard believed by many researchers, including RFK Jr, to have been the real shooter in the RFK assassination.[1][2]

Career

Cesar was hired as a part-time security guard just a few months before getting called up at the last minute to personally escort Kennedy.[3] Lisa Pease, who researched A Lie Too Big to Fail about the RFK Assassination, writes that Cesar had previously worked for Robert A. Maheu in Los Angeles.[4]

Thane Eugene Cesar was an armed security guard standing directly behind Robert F. Kennedy when he was shot in the back of the head. Lisa Pease cites witnesses such as the wife of author George Plimpton, who said they saw gunmen behind Kennedy. [4] Cesar admitted drawing his gun.[3]

Removal of the clip on tie by Life

RFK removed Cesar's clip on tie as he fell. This was removed from the image of RFK on the ground when it was used as the cover image for the 24 June 1968 cover of Life magazine.[5]

Dissent

Dan Moldea researched Cesar's background, interviewed him and has stated that he believes he didn't shoot RFK.[6]

Death

Thane Eugene Cesar died in the Philippines. "Hours after Cesar died – on September 11, 2019 – Kennedy’s son, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., took to Instagram to build the case that Cesar may have “murdered my father.”[7]
