Sweden/Member of Parliament, or isn't it nicer sounding with Member of the Riksdag?

There are a some others countries with a recognized name for parliament, Member of the Storting (Norway), Member of the Folketing (Denmark), Member of the Bundestag (Ger), and I presume Member of the Cortes (Spain), Member of the Sejm (Poland), Member of the Duma (Russia), Member of the Rada (the Ukraine) and Member of the Diet (Japan). They sound better, and are in common usage. Terje (talk) 23:48, 10 July 2022 (UTC)---

Agreed, that would read better and likely get more search traffic. The |constitutes= is set, so they'll get listed at Member of Parliament anyway. The main point of having these pages so predictably named is that it allows for SMW to know which countries the pages correspond to, in case of future templates. This is actually true even if they get renamed, so cosmetic renaming is helpful. The subpage secures easy bi-directional navigation, but that's fairly minor.
I'm actually having second thoughts about redirecting all those MP jobs after noticing an unwanted side effect. The main aim was to replace the red job links with something useful, i.e. a list of MPs. But in a sense that was sloppy thinking, since it strays from the SMW meaning. Eliding the different MPs to a single page now means that the SMW sees those pages as synonyms, causing the automatic display of successor to goes wrong, since it displays all the UK MPs as potential successors of one another. I'll see how it looks when the changes propogate. It may necessitate modifying that template. -- Robin (talk) 20:55, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
The elegant solution would be an option in each job "|show successor=yes/no", but it sounds like a lot of work. Terje (talk) 06:29, 12 July 2022 (UTC)---
I was thinking about disabling it if the job name included the phrase "Member of Parliament". Wait and see how it looks... -- Robin (talk) 17:12, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
