Interest ofDavid Miller

Social power is a reflection of how someone is treated by others in a society, and especially of their effective ability to influence or control others. Influence over others is both ex officio (stemming from jobs which put them in charge of others) and of a less formal, social, nature. This second aspect of influence is used by deep state groups to control national governments.

Criticism

Ivan Illich forthrighly criticised the concept of "social power", arguing that it was a vacuous illusion, and predicting its sudden collapse at an unspecified date in the future.[1]
