Dr. Shiraz Maher is a UK writer and commentator on "radicalisation". He opined in March 2020 that COVID-19 was "a completely mad, crazy illness. It has made me feel more intensely ill than I've ever been in my life."
Maher was director of the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation at King's College. Johns Hopkins, Middle East Institute, Gatestone Institute.
In March 2020, Maher was the subject of an article entitled Infected man’s horrifying experience of COVID-19 is the scariest you’ll read. It continued "A terrorism expert who developed a “completely mad” case of COVID-19 despite having no underlying conditions has described just how bad the disease can get."
