Known for being a long time director of Liberty, the UK civil liberties advocacy organisation, but with some interesting connections.

In September 2014, she took up the role as Chancellor of the University of Essex.

Criticism of PREVENT

In 2009 she termed the UK government's "Prevent program "as the biggest spying programme in Britain ... and an affront to civil liberties".[1]

Connections

Chakrabarti is an alumna of the British-American Project,[2][3] and has been a governor of the Ditchley Foundation.[4]
