Libya will hold its first presidential election in 2021. It is considered to be necessary but "high risk".[1]
Candidates
- Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, son of Colonel Gaddafi[2]
- Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, incumbent Prime Minister of Libya
- Khalifa Haftar, warlord and commander of the Libyan National Army[3]
