Labour Grassroots is a hub for Labour Party activists[1] which aims to change Labour from a top-down bureaucratic machine (incapable of winning elections without Murdoch’s support), to a vibrant, grassroots movement that will sweep the party to power.[2]

Not the Andrew Marr Show

Sundays 10:30am live on Zoom

Labour Grassroots reports:

Join us on Sunday morning for a discussion on what is happening with Keir Starmer, Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party. Plus a newspaper review, comedy and music.[4]

On 22 November 2020, Labour Grassroots posted on Facebook:

‘Not the Andrew Marr Show’ featured a discussion on Zoom about the suspension of Jeremy Corbyn, his subsequent reinstatement and the failure of Keir Starmer to return the Labour whip to him.
We heard from Thelma Walker, who had resigned from the Labour Party. And from three Labour members who were supportive of Keir Starmer’s position.[5]
Then Howard Beckett, an NEC representative for Unite, spoke. And, within minutes, people were asking for his speech to be put out on social media.[6]

Castaway with Corbyn

Wednesday 25 November 2020 from 7:30pm

On Sunday 15 November 2020 at 11:00am, Leader of the Labour Party Keir Starmer appeared on BBC Radio 4's "Desert Island Discs" programme with Lauren Laverne when he shared the eight tracks, book and luxury he would take if cast away to a desert island.[7]

Labour Grassroots founder and host Crispin Flintoff told the Morning Star:

“Sir Keir’s cringeworthy choices for Desert Island Discs alerted everyone to the fact Jeremy Corbyn had never appeared on the BBC show when he was Labour leader.
“I asked Jeremy if he would be up for taking part in an alternative version on Zoom and, after some persuading, he agreed. “He says he has an eclectic mix of musical tastes – from folk to new stuff.”

'Not Desert Island Discs' with Jeremy Corbyn took place on Wednesday 25 November 2020 from 7:30pm and went on past 9:00pm.

Close to 500 people joined Jeremy Corbyn on a virtual Zoom Desert Island as he shared ten pieces of music and three books.

Registration was at the link.[8]
