Jose Sanjenis is a CIA operative reported closely with convicted Watergate burglar Frank Sturgis. He reportedly set up a Cuban equivalent to the CIA's assassination squad, Operation 40.[citation needed]

Jose Sanjenis Perdomo was working as the doorman at the Dakota on Dec. 8, 1980, the night John Lennon was killed. He was at the crime scene when the murder occurred and asked Mark David Chapman immediately after the shooting, if he knew what he had just done. Chapman replied that he had just shot John Lennon. Perdomo's name may not have been released for several years after the event.[citation needed]

Perdomo played a key role in Operation 40 - the CIA hit squad run out of Ted Shackley's Miami station - connected to the JFK Assassination. His witnessing the assassination of John Lennon is therefore remarkable. Wikipedia deleted their page on him in 2015...
