John Henry Durham (born 1950)[1] is the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. He is best known for leading an inquiry into allegations that FBI agents and Boston police had ties with the mob[2] and his appointment as special prosecutor regarding the 2005 CIA interrogation tapes destruction.
On 1 November 2017, he was nominated by President Donald Trump to be Connecticut's next US Attorney.[3] On 15 February 2018, his nomination to be the United States Attorney was confirmed by voice vote. He was sworn in on 22 February 2018.
On 13 May 2019, John Durham was appointed to review the origins of the Trump-Russia inquiry and to investigate whether the collection of intelligence on the Trump campaign was lawful.[4]
