Joe McCrea is a former Special Adviser to Tony Blair who now runs his own PR firm.[1]

In June 2016 The Canary revealed that the website set up to campaign for Fabian Society member Angela Eagle to become Leader of the Labour Party is owned by Joe McCrea. More intriguing is that the site was created at 6pm on Saturday 25 June, some six hours before Jeremy Corbyn sacked Shadow Foreign Secretary Hilary Benn for disloyalty and 36 hours before Angela Eagle resigned from the Shadow Cabinet, citing Benn's dismissal as the main reason.[2]
