"Zhitomirskiy and his three co-founders have been very much rising stars in the tech startup world. Diaspora burst onto the scene by rasing more than $200,000 on the crowdfunding site Kickstarter while they were still at NYU."[1]

Death

CNN reported that on November 14, 2011 that "Zhitomirskiy committed suicide, a source close to the company told CNNMoney on Sunday." It did not report how.[2][3] An autopsy from the Medical Examiner's office formally ruled the death as a suicide in April 2012.[citation needed]
