Depression is a disabling mental health condition.

Official narrative

In terms of most years of life lost due to disability or death adjusted for population size 2016, the WHO ranked the USA third (behind China and India) not only on depression, but also anxiety and alcohol/drug use.[1]

Causes

Numerous research articles have correlated depression with screen time.[2] A 2017 article suggesting a link between teenage depression and use of smartphones noted that "in just the five years between 2010 and 2015, the number of U.S. teens who felt useless and joyless – classic symptoms of depression – surged 33 percent in large national surveys."[3]

Treatment

Depression is treated with anti-depressant drugs such as SSRIs, although these have serious side effects and are little better than placebos.[citation needed] Recent research suggests that psychedelic drugs such as psilocybin or LSD may be effective.[5][6][7][8]
