David Quarreyis a British diplomat. He was private secretary for two years of Tony Blair was he UK Prime Minister.[1] He was made UK Ambassador to Israel in July 2015.[1]

Career

Quarrey, who joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1994,[2][3] previously directed its Near East and North Africa Department. He has was also a British diplomat in Harare, in Delhi and at the United Nations in New York. When Tony Blair was British prime minister, he was his private secretary for two years.[4]

Quarrey's term as Ambassador to Israel ended in June 2019. He was replaced by Neil Wigan.[5]

Quarrey is per 2022 Prime Minister Boris Johnson's International Affairs Adviser and Deputy National Security Adviser.[6]

Personal life

Quarrey was Britain's first openly gay Ambassador to Israel.[4] His husband is Aldo Oliver Henriquez.[7]
