Dave Pitts is a CIA spook. He was Chief of Station in Kabul at the time of the Afghanistan/2021 Withdrawal.[1][2]

Background

His military career from 1973 until 1996 in one of the US' premier Special Mission Units. He also was in 3/5th Special Forces Group. One of the original communications specialist in the US Army's first Counterterrorist Unit, 1st SFOD-Delta at Ft. Bragg NC (1978-1981). According to his LinkedIn, he had multiple intelligence, counterterrorism, special operations, and special mission roles.[3]

CIA career

Pitts is a "former CIA executive with over four decades of experience in challenging and critical missions, ranging from intelligence operations, counterterrorism and special operations to great power competition" He was Assistant Director of CIA for South and Central Asia, responsible for all CIA activities and engagement across South and Central Asia and for policy coordination in Washington. He also was Chief of CIA's historic National Resources Division (domestic recruitment of assets) and held multiple leadership positions in the Counterterrorism Center (CTC). He Spent several years as a senior CIA officer on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan and led CIA's two largest field Stations.[3]

Later activities

He joined the board of the [[artificial intelligence] company Clear Fracture in 2024, following the company's spin-out from McNally Capital's FedData. He sat on the board of Skyspigot, a weather modification (atmospheric water harvesting) company.[4]
