Thoughts Robin 11:03, 12 June 2012 (IST)

I'm finding it a helpful exercise to think about these templates - which are needed and why. I also think they mimic the 'look and feel' of WP quite well, which is one reason I'd like to follow WP style and back them up with a few pages of explanation (e.g. what do we mean by bias, gaps etc.) There should be plenty of choice for examples from WP/WS -- and giving us a chance to showcase our most thought out articles.

Every Page?

One issue is that most pages (arguably almost by definition?) will end up with one of these banners on top. Is this a problem? It takes away their impact and argues for a more lightweight, skimmable format.

Repetition

I am currently unhappy about the repetition involved in these templates... e.g. if someone arrives via Wikipedia+ they see one banner, then they click through and see another, fairly similar banner. I feel like we should be able to improve on the current model (which has grown organically using a hunch that like Wikipedia would be good - rather than having much planning) by thinking clearly about how people access information. Suggestions welcome...

If all those who donate to maintaining this system like the effect, then I'll not grumble. Toolbox 11:32, 12 June 2012 (IST)

I'm more than happy with how this is progressing. I would however prefer the site remain open to its own collection of documents and pdf files as well. Linking those more tightly to regular articles would probably benefit from some thought too. --Peter P 12:21, 12 June 2012 (IST)

Agreed, the site should be open to other documents, too. Indeed worth thinking in general terms about how these can be linked in and navigated by people. I think we can pretty much assume that they won't be linked from WP. Robin 12:27, 13 June 2012 (IST)
