Cat Smith (born 16 June 1985) is a British politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Lancaster and Fleetwood since the 2015 General Election. A member of the Labour Party, she was Shadow Secretary of State for Young People and Democracy from 2016 to 2021.[1]

Resignation

On 29 November 2021, Cat Smith tweeted:

This morning I resigned from Labour’s shadow cabinet and I look forward to spending more time here in Lancaster and Fleetwood. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for some time and the reshuffle that’s going on today seems the most appropriate time to leave the front bench.[2] [3]
