Brent Scowcroft has been National Security Advisor twice, separated by a gap of over 10 years: first to US Presidents Gerald Ford and then to George H. W. Bush. He is a close friend of the Bush family.

Support for the War on Terror

He said in August 2002 "that US action against Iraq, without resolving tensions between Israel and the Palestinians, 'could turn the whole region into a cauldron and thus destroy the war on terrorism'."

Corruption

Sibel Edmonds has identified Scowcroft in a list of corrupt Pentagon and State Department officials.[1]
