Bill Fairclough is a retired English businessman. He was a Chartered Accountant for over 40 years specialising in fraud prevention and detection. He also worked in intelligence specialising in investigations and infiltration. Most of his work in intelligence is still shrouded in secrecy for obvious security and legal reasons (but see Notes 1 & 2 below). Nevertheless, limited background information relating to Bill Fairclough's assignments and investigations in that arena is disclosed via this link.
Activities
In 1978 he founded Faire Sans Dire [[1]] which, according to its website [[2]], was and still may be "a niche UK based intelligence and investigatory risk management consultancy with global reach". Its past and present activities are still shrouded in secrecy for obvious security and legal reasons. Nonetheless, to a limited degree, its past activities are divulged in its press releases [[3]] and disclosed via this link.
Publications
In 2014, Beyond Enkription [[4]] was published as the first novel in The Burlington Files [[5]] [[6]], a series of six biographical novels based on Bill Fairclough's life. The series was copyrighted by an English company, The Burlington Files Limited [[7]] [[8]]. Beyond Enkription was not written as, and has never been marketed as, a traditional novel because it was written for film adaptation. The purposes of publication were to secure copyright and make the book easily accessible. Accordingly, the book has to date not been what is normally classified as a successful publication or best-seller, other than in obtuse ways. In China and old Soviet Bloc countries such as the Ukraine and Bulgaria it is estimated that in aggregate over 60,000 copies of Beyond Enkription were sold through illegitimate eBook libraries within a year or so of its publication on Kindle [[9]].

Bill Fairclough's Concise Profile
In 1969 Bill Fairclough started his career [Notes 1 to 3] as a trainee accountant (articled clerk) at Cooper Brothers [Note 4], later to become Coopers & Lybrand [[10]] and after that PricewaterhouseCoopers [[11]]. Somewhat altruistically, Bill lived a double life from the early seventies which was about the time he qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Coopers. In 1978 he established Faire Sans Dire [[12]] while still employed by Coopers & Lybrand.
In the seventies and eighties, Faire Sans Dire provided a conduit whereby intelligence agencies involved mainly in law enforcement could more easily work together. In those days, many intelligence agencies did not communicate one with another courtesy of the Cold War. Nonetheless, most of them abhorred people trafficking and similar heinous crimes. The goal of Faire Sans Dire was to help prevent the exponential spread of international organised crime which was exploiting the Cold War communications gap.
After leaving Coopers & Lybrand in July 1983, Bill Fairclough continued to work in the international financial services industry until January 1999 while still retaining control of Faire Sans Dire. From 1983 to 1986 Fairclough worked at Citigroup [[13]] and from 1986 to 1999 at the Barclays Group [[14]] including a secondment to the Reuters Group [[15]]. From 1999 he switched roles and focused on Faire Sans Dire, albeit still covertly until 2010. Even then, he continued to take on directorships openly and covertly (as a shadow director) in various companies not only in the financial services sector but also in property, healthcare and other industries [Note 5].
Bill Fairclough retired in about 2018/19.

1 This "Steemit" article [[16]] summarises some of the more interesting ways to search the web for Bill Fairclough and find out more about his dual or triple lives. Checking out the veracity of a self-confessed spook is most likely to be an unrewarding exercise. Clearly a spook won't want you to see more than he wishes to disclose. Accordingly, if you are seeking evidence of his activities then you are most likely going to walk away empty-handed. However, an interesting way to at least check the likely veracity of a self-confessed spook's statements is to reverse engineer his social media profiles and check who his associates are apart from the obvious such as past co-directors and advisers whose names have been published.
2 Bill Fairclough's "obvious associates" include many alumni (eg Barclays board level directors, senior partners of established international law firms and even an acknowledged SFO executive[[17]]). As for Fairclough's less obvious associates, reverse engineering might reveal thousands of past and present respectable contacts in important positions of trust including: eminent judges, reputable barristers, senior partners in magic circle law firms, retired high ranking intelligence operatives, distinguished directors of listed companies, powerful politicians, Big Four accountancy firm partners, senior law enforcement officials and renowned governmental officials from all over the world. Now, anyone conducting serious research, would have to ask themselves "Why are these highly influential bigwigs connected to Bill Fairclough unless they have reason to believe what is written about him is true?" "Why hasn't anybody said what is written about him is untrue?" After all, he has made many enemies by all accounts and they have had decades to levy their criticisms on the web.
