The 2003 Bilderberg Meeting was the 51st such meeting and had participants from European countries, the United States and Canada. It was held at Versailles, France. The 126 guests included 42 business executives, 33 politicians, 7 financiers, 14 editors/journalists and 10 academics. Exceptionally, guests included Ahmad Bishara, a Kuwaiti. The next meeting was the 2004 Bilderberg.

Unexpected deaths of attendees

The meeting was attended by Gareth Williams then Leader of the House of Lords, who on 13 June became also Lord President of the Council. Williams suddenly died at his home in Gloucestershire on 20 September, aged 62. It was his second Bilderberg (he also attended in 2002).
