Article 19 is an international organisation that according to itself "works to defend and promote freedom of expression and freedom of information worldwide".

Own words

An international human rights organisation that works to defend and promote freedom of expression and freedom of information worldwide. It was founded in 1987.[1] The organisation takes its name from Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states:

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; the right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media regardless of frontiers.

Covid-19

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the NGO called out governments in their curtailing of free speech and demonstrations in the Covid-19 lockdown.

“Freedom of expression is the fundamental human right that enables us all to demand the highest attainable standard of health. Unlike any other year in recent history, 2020 has driven home just how vital access to accurate, reliable and timely information is, and continues to be, during a global health crisis.

When faced with such crises, governments have a fundamental duty to be transparent about their decisions, and a legal obligation to protect people’s lives. This means ensuring that health-care professionals have access to accurate global information about the disease, educating the public about the pandemic, and ensuring that health data is accessible to everyone – no exceptions. The Global Expression Report for 2021 reveals that rather than focusing on controlling the virus, protecting public health and improving access to information, governments have used the pandemic as an excuse to:

Suppress critical information Implement states of emergency without proper limits Place unreasonable and unnecessary restrictions on the media

And by presenting a false choice between human rights and public health, governments have used a cunning tactic to shut down public discussion and any scrutiny of their decisions. In other words, they have wasted public money and valuable time using the pandemic to entrench their power.

As a result, these actions have prolonged the pandemic and cost lives.”

Ford FoundationIn addition to its own billionaire agenda, also known to have been $$$ middleman for covert CIA funding.
Freedom HouseCIA backed group interested in internet censorship
Fritt OrdNorwegian grant giving foundation with Cold War origins.
LuminatePierre Omidyar's foundation for financing global media and civil society groups. It is unknown how close it coordinates with certain deep state US government agencies.
National Endowment for DemocracyThe "traditional intermediary of the CIA", promoting the US "national interest" by "soft power".
Norway/Ministry of Foreign AffairsA significant donor to NGOs and planning organizations. Many of the recipients dovetail with NATO objectives like regime changes and controlling the narrative.
Open Society FoundationsA NGO operating in more countries than McDonald's. It has the tendency to support politicians (at times through astroturfing) and activists that get branded as "extreme left" as its founder is billionaire and bane of the pound George Soros. This polarizing perspective causes the abnormal influence of the OSF to go somewhat unanswered.
Sigrid Rausing Trust
UK/FCOThe UK government department dealing with foreign policy.
USAIDUS govt organization to provide "international development", including funding of Ecohealth Alliance. Called "CIA's little sister".
