Anneliese Jane Dodds is a British Labour and Co-operative politician serving as Chair of the Labour Party since 2021.[1] She was Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer from April 2020 to May 2021, the first woman to hold the position. She has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Oxford East since 2017 and was a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for South East England from 2014 to 2017.[2]

European Parliament

As an Euro-MEP, she was named as one of many Open Society Foundations/Reliable allies.

UK Parliament

She was elected in the UK/General election/2017. She immediately joined the frontbench under Jeremy Corbyn.

When Keir Starmer became leader, she was appointed Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer joining his top team.

After poor results in the 2021 local elections, she was demoted to Party Chair. She got the additional Women and Equalities portfolio after the resignation of Marsha de Cordova.[3]
