Russian liberal exile and "fierce critic" of Putin, working for the deep state Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Attended the 2023 Bilderberg meeting.

Andrey Vladimirovich Kolesnikov is a Russian-born senior fellow at the US deep state think tank Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. A "fierce critic" of Vladimir Putin[1], he attended the 2023 Bilderberg meeting.

The Kremlin has managed to transform the "special operation" into a "people’s war," a shared task that should unite the nation. Anyone who is against the Kremlin—"national traitors," in Putin’s words—must be fought against. ...Weariness of the "special military operation" in Russia is expressed not only in calls for peace, but also in either more aggressive or more passive, incurable support for the authorities.[2]

Career

Kolesnikov was previously was the managing editor of the Novaya Gazeta newspaper and deputy editor in chief of Izvestia and The New Times.

He is Board Member of Gaidar Foundation, named after Yegor Gaidar.[3]

He is the author of generally positive biography of Anatoly Chubais,[4][5] the most loathed man in Russia.
