Judge presiding in the trial of President Maduro and involved in several high-profile 9/11 related cases.

Alvin Kenneth Hellerstein is an American lawyer and jurist who from 1998 was United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the district which often has jurisdiction over America's largest financial institutions.

Judge Hellerstein is expected to preside over the trial in July 2026 of President Maduro of Venezuela and his wife Cilia Flores.[1]

Unsuitability as a judge

Christopher Bollyn writes that "Alvin K. Hellerstein's only son, Joseph, is a Talmudist who lives in an illegal Jewish settlement on the West Bank (Modi'in). The younger Hellerstein studies the anti-Christian Talmud, speaks Hebrew, and works for an Israeli law firm in Tel Aviv - since 2001." He notes that "Hellerstein is a member of The Jewish Center in New York, which teaches the Talmud and "considers Israel activism a core value." Israeli law, based on the Talmud, openly discriminates between Jews and non-Jews", contravening the Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges which requires that "A judge should not hold membership in any organization that practices invidious discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, or national origin."[2]

Alvin Hellerstein was involved in several high-profile 9/11 related cases.[2] These include a consolidated master case against three airlines, ICTS International and Pinkerton's airport security firms, the World Trade Center owners, and Boeing Co., the aircraft manufacturer.

Larry Silverstein lawsuit

In November 2017, Judge Hellerstein awarded over $95 million to Larry Silverstein who had sued companies including American Airlines Group Inc. and United Continental Holdings for negligence in relation to 9-11.[3]

Harvey Weinstein

On 5 January 2026, Andrew Brel posted on Facebook:

Alvin Hellerstein is the 92-year-old Zionist orthodox Jewish judge Trump's team chose to hear the Maduro case.

Hellerstein did a great job for Harvey Weinstein, and will likely do another great job for another Zionist rapist who picked him for this very specific function. Hellerstein presided over a federal lawsuit in the Harvey Weinstein case. In April 2019, Hellerstein eliminated 17 claims from the case, before allowing the case to proceed to trial.

On 24 May 2019, multiple press reports stated Weinstein had offered to settle civil lawsuits against him for $44 million. Judge Alvin Hellerstein rejected the settlement in July 2020, criticising several of the terms including "that Harvey Weinstein can get a defense fund ahead of the claimants is obnoxious". In January 2021 a new $17 million settlement was agreed to in bankruptcy court.

In 2021, after more than a year of negotiations, infighting, numerous roadblocks and a criminal rape conviction for Harvey Weinstein, Hellerstein rejected a proposed settlement between the mogul and nine women who said he sexually assaulted or abused them. He said he wouldn’t consent to the $18.9-million settlement in part because the agreement tried to include claims by women who asked to be excluded from the deal. He said the proposed settlement unfairly included women who simply met Weinstein, in addition to those who were sexually assaulted by him. Harvey was thrilled to have a Zionist judge's support.

Hellerstein discussed the intersection of his Jewish identity and profession on a 2020 interview on the “Behind the Bima” podcast. “I just feel that it’s my obligation to listen, to be compassionate but then to apply the law as I understand it,” he said, adding, “It’s impossible to say what role my Jewishness or my Orthodoxy plays in that. I think it does.”

Maduro has frequently accused the Zionist entity for undermining his legitimacy. Venezuela’s acting leader, Maduro’s vice president Delcy Rodriguez, said there were “Zionist undertones” to the US military’s capture of Maduro.[4]
