Aline Piva is a Brazilian media analyst and political campaigner who is Latin America Coordinator for Progressive International and editor of Expressao Popular. From 2017 to 2018, she was Assistant Deputy Director and Coordinator of the Brazil Research Unit at the Council of Hemispheric Affairs (COHA), a Washington D.C.-based think tank on Latin American affairs.[1]

Aline Piva was formerly a collaborator of the political blog Nocaute, a project led by Brazilian writer Fernando Morais.[2]

Research interests

Aline Piva’s areas of research interest include: US-Cuba Relations in the 20th Century, US Foreign Policy and Imperialism, Haitian elections in the 21st Century, Popular Movements in Latin America and the history of Democracy in Brazil.[3]
