Alighiero De Micheli was an Italian industrialist and banker. He attended the 1963 Bilderberg meeting.

Background

De Micheli was born in Milan on 20 December 1904.

Career

De Micheli was an industrialist working in the family business of elastic fabrics. He was director of numerous industrial and banking companies including the Lanificio di Somma Lombardo, the Cotonificio di Spoleto, the Banca di Credito Artigiano and the Banco di Sicilia.

He was president since July 1946 of the industrial association Ass. Industriale Lombarda and, from February 1956, of the Italian employers' federation Confindustria. He aimed to stimulate the industrial owners to enter more actively in the life of the country, especially as regards political problems.[1]

He was also a director of the Institute of International Politics and of the Lombard Historical Society.
