"Alex served as Southeast Asia Correspondent, assistant foreign editor, Washington correspondent and Diplomatic correspondent for the Daily Telegraph. He was a senior media adviser to Prince Ali of Jordan’s FIFA presidential bid, and to the European Movement’s UK referendum campaign. He has spoken at Council of Europe and Chatham House events on the future of journalism."[1]

In May/Jun 2017, he published 3 articles, all about Brexit on Infacts.org.[3]

On 5 October 2017 he co-founded his own company, Alex Spillius Associates Ltd.[2]

Spillius is a member of the Journalism Trust Initiative "to rebuild confidence in the global media industry, launched by Reporters Sans Frontieres and the European Standardisation Committee (CEN). Partners include Agence France Presse, the European Broadcasting Union and the Global Editors Network.[4]
