The US government was quick to blame Al Qaeda, though no evidence of guilt was presented and there is much suspicion about what Al Qaeda really is. In the USA 9-11 assisted the Patriot Act's roll back of civil liberties, the stepping up of domestic surveillance and the financial advancement of the military industrial complex. Abroad 9-11 helped launched wars on Iraq and Afghanistan that had been planned long before.

Was the CIA complicit in the Lockerbie and 9/11 attacks? It certainly looks like it!

Prior to 9-11, the deadliest terrorist attack against America was the Lockerbie bombing, described by the CIA as follows:

On December 21, 1988, Pan American flight 103, a Boeing 747, took off from London, bound for New York City. As it was climbing on its northerly flight path, it exploded over the town of Lockerbie in the Dumfries and Galloway region of southwest Scotland. In all, 270 people from 21 countries were killed, including all 259 passengers and crew members plus 11 people on the ground in Lockerbie.

The plastic explosive that detonated in the forward cargo hold triggered a sequence of events that led to the rapid destruction of the aircraft. Winds scattered victims and debris along an 81-mile-long corridor 845 square miles in area.

The Lockerbie bombing became the subject of Britain's largest criminal inquiry led by its smallest police force, the Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary. This widely regarded assault on a symbol of the United States, with 189 of the victims being Americans, stood as the deadliest terrorist attack on American civilians until the attacks of September 11, 2001.

On 28 August 2001, Scottish Lord Advocate Colin Boyd presented the Lockerbie Bombing/Official Narrative at a conference in Australia of the International Society for the Reform of Criminal Law (ISRCL).

On 11 September 2001, the Scottish Mirror suddenly revealed a story that had been suppressed for over twelve years: a Pan Am luggage depot at Heathrow was broken into just hours before the Lockerbie disaster. The three Scots Judges who convicted Libyan Abdelbaset al-Megrahi on 31 January 2001 of the 1988 atrocity never heard the crucial evidence. The damning statement from security guard Ray Manly about a padlock having been snapped during the raid vanished before the trial even began. Al Megrahi's conviction was based on the bomb being put on an Air Malta flight to Frankfurt, before being transferred to London and loaded onto Flight 103.

Security guard Ray Manly told how he discovered the break-in at 12.30am on 21 December 1988, 18 hours before New York-bound Flight 103 was blown up, killing 270 people. He came forward after his vital evidence failed to come up at the trial. He said:

"Lawyers had no idea about my statement. No one knew about the break-in. I just find that incredible. Whoever is guilty is not my concern but I'm sure the relatives of those who were killed want to get to the truth."

On Tuesday, 11 September 2001, BBC News carried the Scottish Mirror story at 08:42 GMT 09:42 UK:

New evidence has emerged which casts doubt over the Lockerbie bombing conviction, a national newspaper reported on Tuesday. The Mirror claims that the device which blew up Pan Am Flight 103 over the small Scottish town may not have been loaded at Frankfurt, an assertion made by the prosecution team. Its theory stems from an interview with Heathrow Airport security guard Ray Manly who said he told police that Pan Am's baggage area was broken into on 21 December 1988, some 17 hours before the plane set off for New York. Mr Manly was interviewed by anti-terrorist officers a month after the tragedy, but his evidence was "lost" and never used in court.

Within a few hours of publication, the CIA effectively buried this Lockerbie bad news story as reports of the 9/11 attacks in America began to swamp the commercially-controlled media. Was the CIA complicit in the Lockerbie and 9/11 attacks? It certainly looks like it!

Official Narrative

Over a decade after the events, the official narrative about the 9/11 attacks is increasingly understood to be no more than a convenient cover story that has worn very thin. Almost everyone is agreed on the lack of integrity of the officials who came up with the official story, and the implausibility of their '19 men with boxcutters' story is widely understood.

Official Inquiries

There have been two official inquiries. The first enquiry, by its own admission not in "the blame game about what went wrong from an intelligence perspective" produced a report which was censored and has not been released in full to this day. The second, the "9/11 Commission" was termed a "cover-up" by one of its members.

Challenges

The US government's official narrative has been denounced in the UN, the EU parliament and in many national parliaments including Belgium, Italy, Japan and Iran. Francesco Cossiga, former Italian President, stated in 2008 in Italy’s most widely read newspaper that 9/11 was carried out by the CIA and the Mossad.

Problems

Legions of insiders have testified that the official story didn't fit their experiences of that day (some of them have suffered premature deaths in suspicious circumstances). A mound of of factual evidence has been produced, and published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, pointing to highly improbable accidents and glaring anomalies about the official story. The US government has frequently cited "national security" in an effort to obscure their behaviour on that day (and the commercially-controlled media) appears to have been subjected to censorship on the topic.

Paul Craig Roberts wrote that "If such a thing had actually happened, there would have been demands from the White House, from Congress, and from the media for an investigation. Officials would have been held accountable for their failures. Heads would have rolled. Instead... The worst security failure in history resulted in not a single firing. No one was held responsible."

Response

Peter Dale Scott writes that "Starting in 2001, both law and freedom have been progressively eroded. International comity, which depends on each state not doing to others what they would not want done to them, has been supplanted, at least for a while, by U.S. unilateral military engagement without constraint, acting without fear of retribution. Drone killings in far corners of the world have now become routine, causing more than an estimated 2000 Pakistani deaths, the vast majority of them untargeted civilians, and over 75 percent of them under President Obama. The preemptive war against Iraq, despite being proven both unwarranted and counterproductive, has been followed by the preemptive bombing of Libya, and the prospect of still further campaigns against Syria and Iran... 9/11 itself should be seen as a dialectical outcome of America’s imperial expansion and simultaneous decay -- a process inevitably afflicting those superstates that amass and retain more power than is necessary for the orderly management of their own affairs."

The Official Culprits

Name	Description
"9-11/The 19 Hijackers"	A collection of 19 Muslim men blamed for the 9/11 attacks, 15 of whom were given visas to enter USA (in several cases, irregularly) at the orders of Richard Armitage.
Al-Qaeda	A sketchy term that has been repeated endlessly by the corporate media. Its close connections to Western intelligence agencies are never examined. "The Brotherhood" of the modern era.
Zacarias Moussaoui	Alleged to be "the 20th hijacker"

This is actually fairly patchy and by no means the last word on the subject; 9/11 was a hugely complex affair. However, there is a lot of information on this page and its subpages, and it gives an idea of the scope of the deception.
