Jean-Claude Gisling was a Swiss businessman.
Background
Son of a CEO of Banque Cantonale Vaudoise, Jean-Claude Gisling was one of the arrangers of the 1964 Swiss National Expo. His career then led him to occupy leading positions at the Cossonay cable works, at Schmidheiny Eternit, before becoming the boss of PR agency Publicitas for twelve years, then at industrial company Von Roll AG in 1989.
When he handed over the top job in the industrial company Von Roll AG to Max Amstutz in 1994, after 5 years as CEO[1], he took over management of the Moudon foundry in the canton of Vaud, that once belonged to his family. The company, created 137 years ago in Lausanne, had been taken over by his grandfather at the turn of the century, then managed for a long time by his uncle, before the family sold it to Von Roll in 1973.[2][3]
