William Buckley's Confession - 1985

I'd like to post a request for information about the written and videotaped Confession of William Buckley, the CIA Station Head in Beirut in 1985. (Refs 1 and 2 below).

According to Oliver North and two of the hostages (Jacobsen and Sutherland) who rewrote it for legibility, Buckley’s confession was 400 Pages long. (Refs 18, 19 and 20 below)

William Casey was shown the video tapes of the confession, and McFarlane and North saw the written confession in Tehran in 1986. (Ref 3 below)

The CIA were desperate to make sure Hezbollah and Iran did not publish either the confession or certain documents contained in Buckley's briefcase, or pass the information on to the Soviets.

This motivated the subsequent secret visits of McFarlane, North and George Cave to Tehran. (Refs 4,5, 6 and 7 below) As far as we know, the confession was "buried" by the Iranians in exchange for HAWK and TOW missiles, spare parts and military intelligence during the Iran-Iraq war, as well as payments made to Iranian clerics. (Refs 8, 9, 10 below)

According to Gordon Thomas, Buckley was "depatterned" using electroconvulsive shock therapy and insulin and barbiturate induced sleep narcosis (Ref 11 below).

These methods were first studied by Dr. Ewan Cameron (Ref 12 and 13 below), and Dr. William Sargent (Refs 14, 15 and 16 below), who also developed the technique of psychic driving to repattern behaviour of patients (Ref 17 below).

When Buckley emerged from this "treatment" he had been "given" a new "anti-American and imperialist" personality. This helps explain the behaviour of Buckley on the video tapes delivered by Islamic Jihad to the Athens and Algiers CIA Offices. (see Ref 21 below)

After 100 days or so, he revealed everything about the CIA's activities in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Apart from revealing the names of CIA assets in the region (see Ref 22 below), It's likely that he revealed information about the October Surprise, (see Ref 23 below), Iran-Israeli arms deals, backdoored Promis and Crypto AG use by friendly intelligence agencies in the Middle East, the CIA's role in the grooming of Mubarak, the assassination of Sadat, (see Refs 24 and 25 below) EASTCO and BCCI, the Safari Club, Operation Phoenix assassinations in Vietnam, etc. (see Refs 26 and 27 below)

If anyone can upload a copy of this confession or locate it, this would help to understand the activities of the CIA from the 1960s through to the mid-1980s, and help back up allegations made by Joseph Trento in "Prelude to Terror", and the claims of several other authors regarding alleged CIA activities during this period.
