The BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt (German:BMW Stiftung Herbert Quandt) is a German foundation that, according to its own words, "inspires leaders worldwide to take their social responsibility seriously and to work as responsible leaders for a peaceful, just and sustainable future".

History

The BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt is a corporate foundation of BMW AG, established by BMW in 1970 to honor the services of Herbert Quandt and the company. According to its website, the foundation inspires and supports people who work for the common good and for a sustainable society. The topics are: pro bono engagement, social finance, social entrepreneurship, social intrapreneurship, the future of Europe and Europe's role in the world. The work focuses on international conferences and Responsible Leaders programs as well as events in Berlin and Munich. The events “bring together people from politics, business, science, the media and the non-profit sector”.[1] It wants to support the Sustainable Development Goals in the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

In 2016, the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt was merged with BMW's second corporate foundation, the Eberhard von Kuenheim Foundation.
